Chairman's Report 11 August

Bernard Hughes11 Aug - 06:35

The 4s go marching on

On Saturday the 1s lost despite 83* for Matthew Long. The 2s couldn’t quite force a victory against Wycombe House: we made 225 (Michael Whyard 59) but they clung on at 179-9. The 3s also lost, to Stanmore, Matt Harrison taking 5 wickets and Julian Cosby making 50.

The 4s continue their great run, now 29 points clear at the top of the table. We declared early on 204-7 (Nouman Tahir 101) and bowled out Twickenham for 127 (Jim Yorath 4-33). The 5s lost in spite of Runi Talwar’s 51 and 3-18, but the 6s fought hard for a draw against Wycombe House.

On Sunday the away friendly side lost to Hampton Woodlawn, Zach Fry making 62 and Mike Parkyn 34, but the home side beat Islands Vale, bowling them out for 123 (Connie Shah 5-28) and chased them down for 4.

On Thursday we beat Harrow in the T20. We posted 181 (Tom Flavell 94 and Oli Bradbury 53) and they finished on 138.

Thanks and have a good week everyone
Bernard
