A disappointing Saturday - but big runs on Sunday

A really disappointing day on Saturday. The 1s lost to Kay Plus despite 4 wickets for Richard Carroll. The 2s lost to Finchley – Zach Fry made 42. The 3s lost to North London, Rob Fernandes taking 5-29. The 4s lost a tight one to Willow Leather – they chased down our 203 with 2 balls to spare. Great batting from Jarvis Eyre, who made 87*.

The 5s were the only bright spot, with a win defending 116 against Kensington and Chelsea. Gaurav Jyothi took another 5 for to see us home by 22 runs. There were also three catches by Tom Pate and a first men’s wicket for Geethika Jyothi. The 6s lost to Actonians.

On Sunday, the home team drew with Southwark Park, having racked up 232-8 in 38, thanks to Zach Fry’s 145 (making it 197 runs in the weekend!). The away side nearly pulled off a miracle against Bagshot, who made 254 – and we finished on 220-3, Nav Malik making an unbeaten 50.

The juniors had a quiet half-term week, with the only game being the U17s losing to Brentham on Friday.

Not the best weekend of results – but the good days taste sweeter when you fight back from a tough one, so let’s regather and go again next week. Thanks to everyone who represented the club this week.
