Last weekend we had our traditional season opener at Kempton, where we lost. They made a mighty 307-6 and in reply we made 162-8, Zach Fry getting the first fifty of the season.

Two days ago we had our first Saturday games, including the first fixture at HQ. The 1s had a game at the very strong Bromley, who made 286-4 and we were all out for 135, new skipper Ben Birtles making his mark early with the top score of 59. More of this please, Ben!

The 2s were at HQ where new groundskeeper Raj has put a lot of work into getting the square ready. (Previous groundsman Tush has been appointed to the Lord’s groundstaff: congratulations to him and thanks for all his work with us over the last few seasons.) Against MTSSC we made 169-8 (Connie Nur Shah 41) and they got them for 7.

This coming Saturday there are 4 games, plus a friendly on Sunday at HQ. Please get your availability into Pitchero as soon as possible so we can get the strongest possible sides out next weekend.

Thanks to those who have already paid. This is a time of year when we have lots of outgoings, so it’s really important for people to pay their subs straight away – this would be much appreciated by Mike the treasurer.
