Apologies for the extreme tardiness of the last Chairman’s report of the season.
Sunday saw our last outing, the traditional games at Jordans Taverners. We put up a decent 217, based around Zach Fry’s 100 retired out, his third ton of the year. Jordans chased down the score comfortably, but the game was a decent way to end the year. Thanks to Cliff for his amazing work right up to the bitter end getting Sunday sides out, with good humour and the dark arts of persuasion.
Zach’s ton took him past 1,000 runs for the season, the second time he has achieved this feat. He finishes with a brilliant average of 56.33, with 7 50s and 3 hundreds. Leading wicket-taker is Leith Cowie, with 36 wickets at 18.
Lastly can I encourage you to get your tickets for the club’s senior Presentation Night, on Friday 3 October. Tickets are available now at https://www.chiswickcricketclubdragons.com/payments/senior-presentation-awards-evening-140259.html priced at £15 for seniors and £12 for juniors, to include admission and a pizza. There will be club awards and also the traditional raffle and auction. It would really help our planning if you can pay for your ticket straight away, so we have an idea how many people to cater for.
Thanks – and see you on 3 October.
