Chairman's Report 6 May

Chairman's Report 6 May

Bernard Hughes6 May - 06:34

Wins in the final week of warm-up games

Apologies for the late report – I have been abroad for the weekend.

We had our traditional quadruple-header against Actonians on Saturday (the attempt to make it quintuple was stymied by them conceding the 5s game).

The 1s game was a cup game, which we won in an exciting finish. They made 186 and we got them for 5 with 13 balls to spare (Anurag Zende 46, James Harris 40*). Of the 2s result, no news has reached me. The 3s won, posting 152 and bowling them out for 109. The 4s lost, making 133 (Glayson Baptiste 45) but they got them for 3.

On Sunday we lost to Sonning. They made 154 and we finished on 134.

On Monday we lost our T20 cup game against Barnes despite Matthew Long’s 41.

In the juniors the U13s lost an exciting game on Tuesday and the U15s came off second best on Friday – but well done everyone who played.

This coming Saturday the league starts with a full schedule of 6 games. Please get your availabilities in asap – selection is tonight. There is also a friendly on Sunday.

On Thursday get yourself down to the quiz night at the club – 7.45 start with teams of up to 6, £2 entry. This will be really fun.

Annual subs are now very much due, and payable at https://www.chiswickcricketclubdragons.com/payments/senior-membership-2025-earlybird-before-may-31-130990.html. Thanks to those who have already paid. This is a time of year when we have lots of outgoings, so it’s really important for people to pay their subs straight away – this would be much appreciated by Mike the treasurer.

It's also time to get involved with the Fantasy Cricket game – please go to www.Chiswick.FantasyClubCricket.co.uk to sign up and pick your team, and go to the Pitchero shop to pay your entrance fee. The first week of eligible games is this coming weekend.

Thanks to everyone who represented the club this week -
Bernard
