The 1s had a tough fixture against Wycombe House and lost convincingly, after conceding 311. But a battling batting performance saw 57 for Angad Angaokar, and 40s for Alex Kirkpatrick and Delon Chietan. The 2s also lost to WH, by 8 wickets.

The 3s were the bright spot of the day. After bowling out Kensington and Chelsea for 153 (Hamish Watson 4-18) they knocked them off with Swaps Anaokar making 78 to give a winning start to new skipper Sam Freeman.

The 4s fell short, bowling out West Harrow for 196 (Charlie Harris an impressive 7-35) but only managing 157-9 in reply. The 5s recovered from 65-7 to post 163, largely thanks to a big 8th wicket stand between Tom Dyson and Alex Johnston-Smith and were well in the hunt till Bessborough’s debutant smashed a quick 49* in what will be his only ever appearance in their 4s.

The Sunday side had a trip to Taplow for a good-natured game which we narrowly lost. We made 175-9 – 50 for skipper Zach Fry – and they chased it down with 3 overs to spare.

There were two great junior performances in the week. On Monday the U11s pulled off a brilliant and exciting win over Ealing by 10 runs, Kian Suri making 42 and Kavish Kansra 41*. And then on Tuesday the U10s comfortably beat Brentham. Well done to our juniors – and to the coaches and managers.
